Determination for Life

Recently I visited the country of Paraguay; it was an amazing trip and experience. This trip consisted of a lot of traveling in either van or car to numerous destinations; the places I went are not my focus for this post, it was the people I saw along the way. On every street you would see numerous individuals selling anything from fruit to steering wheels. I was so impressed with what I saw in these people, they knew that if they did not sell what they had then it meant maybe not eating that night or that if they didn’t sell then they would not be able to give their family shelter. What I saw in these people was determination; they were so determined to make a buck that they would stand out in the heat and rain all day until they had enough money. Each person would sell to anyone, they gave no care as to who they were; they would use everything in their power to make a sale. For them it was really a matter of life or death.

The question is what would our sales numbers look like at the end of the month if we sold with such determination? What would our relationships look like if we constantly were determined to out serve each other? How packed out would the church be if you were as determined to bring someone to Christ?

Determination is what will set you apart from those who are average, from those who are content in life. Find that determination for what you love, whatever it is, and grab ahold of it and use it to make your situation better! Determination is your next stop; don’t miss it!

Cupcakes, Yes Cupcakes!

This is one of my favorite entrepreneurs of all time. His name is Johnny Earle, founder and CEO of Johnny Cupcakes. Now you might be thinking to yourself, "Does this guy sell baked goods for a living?" and the answer is no, he is in the retail industry. He started his own t-shirt line in 2001 when he wore a t-shirt to work that was meant for an inside joke. This "joke" soon turned into a clothing company that has revolutionized marketing strategies and product/store design to date. He is the prime story of a kid who used what he had at his disposal and made it big!

Here are some pictures of his most popular shirt and what his stores look like: It is the black and white cross and bones with the cupcake on top. Johnny's company will sell out of this shirt in every store everyday!
He has three store locations: 2 in Massachusetts and one in Cali!

Check out his story, stores, blog, shop and some upcoming events at:   http://www.johnnycupcakes.com/blog/

The New CEO

A CEO by definition is the Chief Executive Officer of a company/organization. Their responsibilities entail using strategies to lead the company to success, guiding the company (internally and externally) toward a set objective and centralized goal, and to make sure everyone in the company is working to full capacity. The CEO is IT! Being the CEO a company means that you are the boss, you make all the decisions for yourself (although there is of course a board of trustees to answer to) and the buck stops with you. You have the responsibility to take your company as far as you can and to reach the highest level of success possible. Wouldn't you love to be the CEO?

Today is a new day, today is the day that you become the CEO of YOU! No longer will you just follow suit and be just like everyone else out there. You aren't just another person, you are you! Lets be honest, if you aren't looking out for your own self then who else has you in their best interest? Now I'm definitely not saying for you to be selfish at all, in fact being the CEO is all about helping others as well as helping yourself. The CEO is in charge of the welfare of everyone else in the company and every decision that the CEO makes will have an effect on every person surrounding them. As the CEO of you, your job is to make sure that everyday you are seeking more knowledge and when you find this knowledge that you put it into practice immediately, you must make the executive decisions to strive for excellence in whatever you are doing, you must also take into account the fact that what you say and do will effect the lives of all of those around you.

I never said that being the CEO would be easy, in fact it is much easier to just follow someone else. If you are just following the leadership of others then you will always have someone to blame when things go wrong, you will always have an excuse for your own lack of capabilities to be the number one in your field, and you will never be counted on to become something greater than what you are now.

Today is a new day, the day where you realize that you are the CEO! Go out with the belief and confidence that you are the person for the job and that no one else can do it as well as you can!
